About Fr. Andrew

Fr. Andrew Hamilton is originally from Ford City, Pennsylvania. Before his reversion to the Catholic Faith, Fr. Andrew sought to be a Criminal Defense Attorney. His reversion to the Catholic Faith came through the exploration of large philosophical questions of ethics, epistemology, and teleology. Some of the most influential philosophers that Fr. Andrew encountered were those that ascribed to Nihilism and Absurdism – Friedrich Nietzsche and Albert Camus. A Big Question remained for a young man trying to figure out life… is there true objective meaning to life or only politics and power? After Fr. Andrew realized that God exists and there is an ultimate meaning and purpose to the Universe… he decided to give religious thought another chance.

The simple message of “God is Love,” a Christian saying that he remembered from his childhood catechesis, finally resonated in a new way. The Christian conception of God actually makes sense of Human existence. Why something is rather than why something is not… God’s very essence must be something that Positively wills creation and communion. Thus, the idea of the Trinity, profoundly and solely Christian, can make sense of our existence. God the Father so loves the Son that within that Union procedes the Holy Spirit. If that is the very identity of God, then our world has a true origin and end. The creation of the world is a natural consequence of God’s essence… Love, willing the good of the other… God willing us into Being to share eternal happiness with him.

Fr. Andrew then a college student recognized that not only was God real, but that God wills to be in communion with his creation. So he started communicating with God, what Christians call prayer. The rest of the story is more or less history. Fr. Andrew entered seminary and was ordained to the Priesthood for the Diocese of Greensburg on June 3rd, 2023. He wishes to focus much of his energy on good catechesis and education that can reinvigorate a decaying Western world and lead those within it back to the One who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Fr. Andrew is currently serving as Administrator of St. Bruno and St. Paul Parishes in South Greensburg, PA.
